Roxie And The Hooligans

By: Alexandra Boiger

When Roxie, a nine year old girl, hears that her uncle Dangerfoot is coming to town she is very happy and exited. When he comes he tells her stories. So many stories, I can't count all of them. Speaking of stories the stories she admired the most were about uncle Dangerfoot's adventures with Lord Thistlebottom. Roxie's favorite book was "Lord Thistlebottom's Book of Pitfall and how to Survive Them", a book that tells you what to do when you have a problem.

There was one thing in Lord Thislebottom's book that was missing. And that was, how to deal with bullies. When she is on the way to school she runs in to the hooligans, the meanest band of bullies in the whole school. And the worst thing was that they were chasing her and were making fun of her big ears. She tried to get in to the school but the doors were locked. All that was open was a window ten feet high. She tried to get up to the window and did, but slipped and ended up in a dumpster. The hooligans followed her and fell in also. A truck picked up the trash and loaded them on a ship. Everyone that was in that room accidentally fell out and rolled down in the ocean. When they came up for air there was good news and bad news. The good news was that they were at land. But the bad news was that the land is on a deserted island. "Now what do we do?", the hooligans were thinking. I mean there is no food no fresh water and no shelter. But when it was night the hooligans were sleeping but Roxie couldn't. So Roxie explored the island until she saw some crooks. There names were Snake eyes and Rat. They thought this was there island and everything they saw that was alive they killed. So they went to sleep and Roxie went back with the others and slept. There was no food but bugs which the hooligans would never eat but Rosie knew she could do it because in the book pitfalls it said that you can eat bugs if there is no other food. Just pretend that you are in a palace eating there. So she ate the slimy sandwich (bugs). One night she was looking for water , and food. Then she comes to a tent where Snake eyes and Rat stay and there it was, water and food. And as fast as a bee she took it and ran. She called it borrowing. She wasn't really borrowing. She was thinking of a plan for her and the hooligans and she came up with one so they could get food. Make rabbit noises to attract a fox according to the book pitfalls. They got a fox but it ran away. So do you have any other brilliant ideas Roxie? How can we get back home? the Hooligans asked.

Roxie said: "We can make a huge triangle with big rocks." The hooligans did just what Roxie said . And a rescue from lord Thistlebottom and uncle Dangerfoot came. Dangerfoot said that he saw the triangle and came to rescue you guys in my helicopter. And when they were back it was amazing. People were holding flags that said welcome back, they must of really missed us. And as Roxie grew up she was known as Roxie the girl who was not afraid of anything! The hooligans became Roxie's friends, because she helped them survive. Now she did not have to be afraid anymore.

REVIEW:

My favorite part of the story was the big rescue, because they were going to be reunited with the ones who love them. I especially like this book, because my favorite type of books are adventurous stories. This book has a lot of adventure in it. Roxie was on a deserted island, she was confronted with crooks and made friends with the hooligans who where the meanest band in the school.

My favorite character was Roxie , because she is not afraid of any thing and is up for a adventure, a dangerous adventure. Roxie knows how to deal with almost every situation in the world and even knows how to escape a deserted island.

I loved this book. Everyone in the world should read it.

The Blue Ghost

By:Marion Dane Bauer

When Liz, a 9 year old girl, sees a blue light she tucked up in a ball. The light kept saying "Elizabeth". And the blue light was getting closer so it looked clearer. When she woke up she went to breakfast. During breakfast weird things happened again, when suddenly all the noise stopped. All she could hear was this blue light speaking to her again. And when she went back to her room, in the old log cabin where she was staying, she heard the light speaking to her again. And as normal the light always said "Elizabeth". Then she thought that the light is really her guardian angel, because her mom always said that before she died.

Now a problem had approached, her baby brother was crying so much and had a high fever. This is a big problem!!! We need to find a way to get him better. But how? Now that mom was no longer around, Liz had to find a solution. Then right then, there she was the blue ghost again!

The ghost didn't call for Elizabeth this time. Instead she said to look in a trunk. And Liz did exactly what the guardian angel told her. The next thing she said was to take a book that was titled "Book of Remedies". And Liz did exactly that. And she and her sister knew that that book had a recipe for a medicine or soup in it. They made the recipe and they saved the baby's life thanks to the instruction of the guardian angel (the blue ghost).

Review:

My favorite part of the book was when they saved the baby. I liked the part when they saved the baby because it was so happy. I would want others to read this book because it is a very interesting fantasy and a mystery book at the same time.

ancient greece olympics

The book Ancient Greece and the Olympics was about how the Olympics started, the gods they believed in ,a man who died from his hand stuck in a tree, how the trained for the Olympics, and how to read like a Greek.

My favorite part of ancient Greece and the Olympics was the gods that they worshiped. I liked the gods because they were graceful and nice others were mean .
